Habitat Alamance works every day toward our vision of a world where everyone in our community has a decent place to live. To reach that vision, we bring people together to build houses, communities and hope.
- We are committed to building affordable, high-quality, energy-efficient homes with families who have qualified for our program.
- Volunteers from across the county work together to build our houses. Over 60% of a Habitat house is built with volunteer labor under the supervision of our construction supervisor who is a Licensed General Contractor. Click here to volunteer.
- Funds to build our houses come from donations in the community (churches, businesses, civic organizations, and individuals); from ReStore proceeds; and from mortgage payments of existing Habitat homeowners. Click here for ways to give.
- It takes ALL of us to build a world where everyone has a decent place to live!
Future homeowners are qualified based on their need for decent housing, their ability to pay a mortgage, and a willingness to work hundreds of hours of sweat equity before closing on their home. In an economic model unique to Habitat affiliates everywhere, the mortgage payments come back into the ministry to help build another house.
