Volunteers are crucial to the ministry of Habitat on the job site, in the Habitat ReStore, and more. 75-80% of our houses are built with volunteer labor, so our homeowners depend on people coming to help them build the house for which they have been qualified. Due to the pandemic, we are not currently hosting volunteers on the job site or in the ReStore. When we resume taking volunteers, we will post it here.
To volunteer with HFHAC on the job site, contact the Habitat office by emailing email@example.com. Service opportunities are available for both individual volunteers and groups of up to 10 people. Volunteer hours on the job site are typically, 8 am – 11:30 am, Tuesdays through Saturdays. If you want to come alone, to find out where we are working call 336-266-9148. You will be asked to sign a volunteer waiver once you arrive, so please come before 8am. If you want to bring some friends with you to serve, email the office to schedule a day and be sent waivers for your group: firstname.lastname@example.org.
There are other ways you could get involved with Habitat, but the pandemic is preventing most of them. Depending on your personal interests and various pandemic restrictions, some people volunteer to provide plants for homeowners, provide lunches/snacks for construction volunteers, lead classes on homeownership for our partner families, or help in the office with mailings. When possible again, we would love to have people donate decorating skills to set up displays in the ReStores, hold demonstrations for DIY projects, photograph or video events, and other unique ways that are suited to who you are! To more information and to volunteer with HFHAC in these and other ways, please contact the Habitat office by calling (336)222-8191, and select Option 4 or emailing email@example.com.
We look forward to serving with you!
